Long · 130 words

James Passatore is a holistic health and lifestyle coach with twenty years of professional practice across health, fitness and lifestyle work. He spent his twenties modelling in seven countries, looking like the picture of health while running on nothing, until a health crisis ended that career.

He rebuilt slowly, on an off-grid homestead in the Costa Rican jungle, where he has now lived for thirteen years — a place with no supermarket and no switch on the wall, which taught him which foundations actually hold a life up.

That work became Modern Primal Living: the book The Depletion Map, a free assessment of the seven types of depletion, and a twelve-month app that rebuilds itself around the week you actually have. He coaches a small number of people directly, and hosts a handful on the land each year.

What I can carry for an hour

You're not lazy, you're depleted

Why willpower is the wrong frame for exhaustion, and what the seven types of depletion look like in an ordinary week.

Thirteen years off-grid

What a place with no supermarket and no switch teaches you about rhythm, food, work and rest — and what of it transfers to a city.

The six foundations

Daily Rhythm, Light & Rest, Nourishment, Natural Movement, Environment & Nature, Presence & Connection — and the smallest honest version of each on a bad day.

Why health advice doesn't survive a real week

Integration is the stage nearly every programme skips, and the only one that decides whether any of it is still happening in March.

Selected appearances

To supply TODO(content)

Send me the list — show name, host, date, and the link — and this becomes a simple two-column index of podcasts, articles and talks, newest first. Logos only where the outlet allows them.

Booking and interviews

Tell me the show, the format and roughly when. Remote is easy from here; on-location shoots at the homestead need more notice and good weather. I answer these myself.

Thanks — I'll answer within a few days, either way.
